7/19/2011 — CHICAGO – Flack Steel, Ltd., a CLeveland steel service center, has appointed John M. LaScola vice president of commercial operations.

LaScola, who has more than 30 years’ metals industry experience, will supervise sales and marketing initiatives, new business development, operations and product expansion, Flack Steel said.

He most recently served as president of Integrated Metals Solutions LLC, a privately held consulting and sales distribution company he founded. He previously was commercial vice president in the specialty products division of Duferco Farrell Corp., Farrell, Pa., and also held several posts at Gibraltar Industries Inc., Buffalo, N.Y., including executive vice president of processed metals group for 10 years and vice president of sales and marketing and regional sales manager at Gibraltar Strip Steel, Inc.

“Flack Steel is beginning the next phase of growth and expansion,” company president Jeremy Flack said in a statement. The company was formed last year (AMM, Jan. 3). LaScola is a “respected leader in the metals industry, and I’m confident his leadership will help us achieve our plans for aggressive growth.”

Flack Steel distributes hot-rolled, cold-rolled, galvanized and painted sheet products across the continental United States as well as to Canada and Mexico. End-use markets include residential, industrial and public works construction; material handling equipment; transportation equipment; rail car manufacturing; automotive; mining; and tube producers.
