When did you join the FGM Team?

June, 2012.

Why have you chosen to stay with FGM?

I have an opportunity to make a team better every day. All Ideas are encouraged – Good ideas are rewarded – bad ideas are NOT discouraged. My voice is heard, and I am provided honest, direct, and critical feedback on my ideas and performance. I am encouraged to run toward challenges and adversity as we strive to change an industry. I enjoy working, and FGM provides an environment where individuals that enjoy working hard can succeed, both individually and as part of a team.

What energizes you in your role?

Many things energize me in my role, but I have narrowed my choices to a few that get me going every day. My opportunity to support the development of those around me so that they can be the best versions of themselves. My opportunity to grow and learn from many people from many backgrounds. There are a lot of perspectives in this company and I feel like I can always learn something new. I make a meaningful impact on something bigger than myself every day. There is no denying that it feels good to be part of a winning team – and FGM is winning.

What is your strongest talent you bring to the FGM team?

I am listing two – fortitude and ignorance. Fortitude is self-explanatory, however, listing ignorance as a talent may seem counterintuitive. I view awareness of one’s own ignorance as a great strength. Ignorance is a prerequisite to learning and improvement. Once we think we know everything we cease learning anything. I seek to eliminate ignorance while I use what I learn.

“How can we remember our ignorance, which our growth requires, when we are using our knowledge all the time?” — Henry David Thoreau
